Mayor dashes in for storytime

Mayor Cr Anna Speedie joined children from across the city at the Wodonga Library for National Simultaneous Storytime.

Cr Speedie read from this year's chosen Australian authored and illustratated book Hickory Dickory Dash, written by Tony Wilson and illustrated by Laura Wood.

The NSS is an annual event held by the Australian Library and Information Association.

In its 18th year, NSS aims to promote the value of reading and literacy using an Australian picture book that explores age-appropriate themes and addresses key learning areas in the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

The book is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

Last year more than 6129 locations participated and registered for the event around Australia.
