NAIDOC Week - 3 Deadly Rivers

Wodonga will celebrate NAIDOC Week with a range of activities in the city.

This year's NAIDOC Week theme is 'Because of her, We Can', which will celebrate the role of Aboriginal women in our community and beyond.

Arts Space Wodonga will host a free dance performance by 3 Deadly Rivers on Thursday, July 12 at Arts Space Wodonga.

3 Deadly Rivers will perform from 10.30am to 12.30pm. The group will dance among the artwork of internationally-renowned Aboriginal artist Maree Clarke's exhibition Reimaging Culture: Comtemporary Connections to Country.

There will be a free morning tea afterwards.

The Cube Courtyard Wodonga will host the official flag lowering ceremony to signify the end of NAIDOC Week from 12pm to 2pm.

There will be free family activities and lunch.

“This is really about highlighting the contributions Indigenous women have made in our society and their impact on our community,” Albury-Wodonga NAIDOC co-chairperson Catherine Coysh said.

“It's also about recognising their families, and what those women have done for Aboriginal culture.

“It’s about bringing the whole community together."
