Time to book your Senior Celebration activities

It's that time of year again when senior members of our community can enjoy two weeks of fun activities and performances.

Wodonga Senior Celebrations from October 8 to 21 coincides with the Victorian Seniors Festival each year in October, which celebrates and recognises the wonderful contribution older people make to our community.

Bookings for all events are now open.

Events Officer Melissa Nagle is encouraging residents to look through the program and book into any of the events or activities to secure their place.

"You can get your hands on a copy of the program from inside CityLife or programs are also available from The Cube, community centres and at the library," she said.

Bookings for events at The Cube can be made by calling (02) 6022 9311 or visit The Cube Wodonga box office at 118 Hovell St from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

One event that is sure to be popular this year is the car rally and treasure hunt.

The free event involves organising a car to complete a course, earning points for answering questions and collecting treasure on the way.

There will be prizes and presentations for participants on return to The Cube Wodonga Courtyard.

There's lots of dancing activities, croquet lessons and a tribute show featuring Nikki Nicholls honouring Carole King songs.

For those who don't drive, there's the option of a community bus service to attend the events.

To book the community bus service for events in Wodogna and Baranduda, 48-hour advance bookings are essential, phone 1300 704 530 or email amwodonga@gettingthere.net.au

Buses will operate from 9.30am to 2.30pm by gold coin donation.
